We at Squeaky Sailor may have a slight (all right, extreme) tendency to romanticize storms and shipwrecks, reared as we were on a steady diet of Robinson Crusoe, Michner’s Hawaii, and The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle. But we hope you will forgive us our flights of fancy and enjoy Marooned, our cedar and sage-scented soap with a gentle beeswax and olive oil base. Ah, bliss! The scent of an empty cedarwood chest just speaks to us. We at Squeaky Sailor are extra-keen on shipping trunks, items that to us, smack of travel and sea-worthy adventure. Our hands may be busy making soap, but one whiff of Marooned and our heads become an explosion of Swiss Family Robinson-esque daydreams: Here we are, gathering shipwreck flotsam and jetsam off a seaweed-strewn beach, building a new life on an uninhabited South Sea island. See us now, floating in on the last waves of a storm, tethered to the lid of a shipping box half-destroyed in a typhoon, as we wake, salt-encrusted, to find ourselves marooned in a distant new land.
