About

Hi, I’m Shelley, and this is my company, Squeaky Sailor Soap. I launched Squeaky Sailor way back during the Great Recession, and from the beginning, I ran her as a one-woman shop. We (Royal) retailed, we wholesaled, we were on Etsy and Scoutmob, we were selling at Minneapolis farmers markets and traveling to Renegade Craft Fairs and I did it all because she was my baby and I loved her. But doing it all while working full-time became overwhelming, and in 2017 I closed up shop, convinced that I either had to quit my full time job and focus all my energy on taking my company to the next level – or quit the soaping business for good.

Well, I took a Very Long Break and in 2025, I realized...I was missing something. Something bubbly. Something fun. I remembered that I still loved to tell stories. I still loved to hand people something I made and say, “Here, this one reminds me of you.”

Now more than ever, I want to give something back. That's why for every $10 that Squeaky makes, we pledge to donate $1 to causes that help build the local community.

From the beginning, the goal of Squeaky Sailor was not just to sell soap, but to create something fun, story-driven, handmade and community-oriented. Spinning these tales and crafting these soaps, one by one, was work that brought me through some hard times, and some beautiful times, too.

I can’t wait to start crafting some new history with you.
