Keelhaul

What an unusual word! What a painful practice! What an amazingly exfoliating soap! Keelhauling is an unusual little form of torture first attributed to 18th Century Dutch mariners. Criminals and rule-breakers on board merchant vessels were bound by a long rope and thrown into the ocean, after which their shipmates would haul on the rope, dragging them under the ship. A too-slow drag would drown an unlucky sailor, but a fast drag would result in some truly heinous scrapes, as a sailor banged against the barnacles that covered the ship’s hull from stem to stern. We at Squeaky Sailor hope you will be responsible with your Keelhaul soap, and not go too overboard (pun intended) with your scrubbing. We know it exfoliates like a dream, but keep the bleeding to a minimum, people!

Squeaky Sailor's Keelhaul soap is a gorgeous orange, clary sage and eucalyptus scent set with a super-scrubby blend of poppy seeds and cornmeal, both of which are virtually guaranteed to take your skin off. The gritty bits are embedded in a rich soap base of olive, coconut, and palm oils, and yellow beeswax. Out with the old skin, in with the new! Scrub away your sins with Keelhaul! *Note: Due to its extra-scrubby nature, Keelhaul is not recommended for sensitive areas.
